Wanted Person Arrest

Todd Richard Hirsch is in custody in Miami-Dade County, Florida and is awaiting extradition back to Candler County.

Hirsch was arrested pursuant to an investigation by our office and the United States Marshals Service. Hirsch was wanted for the offense of Escape. During the investigation, it was discovered that Hirsch was ordered to a rehab facility in Emanuel County by the Superior Court of Candler County. Hirsch left the facility and failed to present himself to the Candler County Jail, violating the order and committing the offence of escape. Hirsch was previously charged from an incident in Candler County for the offenses of Fleeing and Attempting to Elude, DUI, Reckless Driving, and six counts of Terroristic Threats.
During the investigation, it was discovered that Hirsch flew to the Dominican Republic. On Thursday February 22 2018, Hirsch left the Dominican Republic bound for Panama City Panama. Hirsch had further plans of flying to Medellin, Columbia. Hirsch was intercepted in Panama and escorted to Miami, Florida by Panamanian Law Enforcement Officials.

We would like to thank the United States Marshals Service for assisting us in the investigation. We would also like to thank the U.S. State Department, U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the Panamanian Officials who assisted with bringing Hirsch back to Candler County to answer for his charges.
