Good Tuesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 2/23/18, through Monday, 2/26/18.

2/23/18

-2400 blk Cardinal Ln., Levelland: Suspicious Person. A deputy responded to the area to attempt to locate suspicious persons. People were being dropped off that did not know the residents. No offenses were reported.

-400 blk Avenue K, Levelland: Asist Levelland PD. Deputies responded to assist with a medical call at a residence. EMS was dispatched and treated the individual.

2/24/18

-6000 blk E FM 597, Anton: Alarm. Deputies were dispatched to an alarm at a residence in the area. The residence was found to be secure.

-6500 blk Kansas Rd, Anton: Alarm. Deputies were dispatched to an alarm at a residence. The homeowners advised deputies to cancel while they were on the way. No offenses were reported.

-FM 300 at West Avenue, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to assist Levelland PD officers with traffic control at the intersection related to a vehicle crash. Deputies stayed on scene to assist as needed.

-1600 blk Avenue S, Levelland: Alarm. Deputies were notified of an alarm in the area. Deputies were cancelled while en route. The location was secure.

-800 blk FM 168, Smyer: Criminal Trespass. Deputies were notified of an individual reportedly trespassing on the property. A close patrol was placed on a residence in the area and information was collected about the suspected individual. Deputies will continue to follow up on the close watch.

-Hwy 114 near FM 168, Smyer: Vehicle Fire. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a car on fire. No injuries were reported and the Fire Department responded to extinguish the fire.

-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Reckless Driver. A deputy was notified of a reckless driver traveling on Hwy 114. The vehicle that was described was not located.

-200 blk South Plains, Ropesville: Suspicious Activity. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a juvenile running from a location. The area was checked and the juvenile was located. No offenses were reported.

-600 blk West Avenue, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy was dispatched to assist with a disturbance in the area. Levelland PD handled the investigation.

-Hwy 114 at Barton Ln, Levelland: Warrant Arrest. A deputy conducted a traffic contact in the area. The driver was arrested for several active warrants and transported to the jail.

-100 blk South Alamo, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. A deputy responded to assist with a 911 call at a residence in the area. Levelland PD conducted the investigation.

-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to the area to attempt to locate a reckless driver traveling northbound on the highway. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

2/25/18

-400 blk Ellwood, Anton: Fire. A deputy responded to a fire at a residence in the area. The Fire Department extinguished the fire before deputies arrived.

-500 blk Maurer, Anton: Alarm. A deputy was dispatched to a residence in the area related to an alarm. No offenses were reported and everything was secure.

-400 blk Duke, Anton: Civil Issue. A deputy assisted Anton Police with a civil issue at a residence. Civil remedies were advised.

-6500 blk Oxen Rd, Ropesville: Assault. Deputies responded to a residence in the area related to an assault complaint. The matter was investigated and one individual was placed under arrest for Assault Family Violence. The individual was transported to the jail without incident.

-West Houston near Evening Tower Rd, Levelland: Racing. A deputy was dispatched to the area to attempt to locate several vehicles racing on the roadway. The area was checked and no vehicles were located.

2/26/18

-US 62/82 at Foster Rd, Ropesville: Warrant Arrest. A deputy responded to the area to assist another agency with a wanted subject on a traffic contact. One individual was arrested for active warrants and transported to the jail without incident.

-Hwy 114 at FM 168, Smyer: Fire. Deputies responded to assist with traffic control in the area due to a large grass fire. The fire department arrived and was able to extinguish the fire.

-2100 blk FM 1490, Levelland: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to a reported vehicle crash in the area. A trooper arrived and conducted the crash investigation. One individual was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 2/27/28 at 0800 hours: 53 in Hockley County, 6 to be processed, 5 out of county.
