The National Weather Service has issued a HIGH WIND WARNING for our area from 10:00am today until 6:00am tomorrow. Strong northwest winds with gusts of 40 to 50 mph are expected to develop this morning. Gusts up to 60 mph are possible during the afternoon and evening hours. The wind is forecast to begin diminishing gradually late tonight.
Strong damaging winds will blow down tree limbs, trees and utility wires, resulting in power outages. Travel will become difficult, especially for those operating high profile vehicles.
Light-weight outdoor objects such as patio furniture and garbage cans should be secured.
Call 9-1-1 to report fallen utility wires, downed utility poles, or other storm related emergencies. Do not call 9-1-1 to merely report a power outage.
