...Light snow possible today...

A strong upper level disturbance will cross the area today,
bringing another day of widespread rain to the region. As the
upper disturbance moves across, temperatures may briefly drop
enough to allow the rain to mix with or change over to snow across
the southern portion of western North Carolina, including the
southwest mountains, western Piedmont, and Charlotte metro area,
and across the mountains of Georgia and South Carolina. A dusting
of snow cannot be ruled out before the precipitation ends from
west to east later today. If temperatures are able to drop lower
than expected, light accumulations will be possible.
