Advisory

A Health Department exercise will occur at the Riverside Government Complex 10a-2p tomorrow

The Riverside City Government complex located at 2950 NW Vivion Road will be hosting an exercise with the Platte County Health Department tomorrow, March 14, 2018 from 7am until 3pm. The exercise is to test the health department’s ability to set up a mass prophylaxis site and distribute medications to the public in the event of a public health emergency. Riverside is a designated site by the health department as an Open Point of Dispensing (POD). Operations of the exercise will be from 10am until 2pm

Access to the Government Complex will be limited to the NW High Drive entrances. The Cliffview entrance will be closed along with the recycling bens until 2pm. City Hall, Police/Fire operations will proceed normally but we ask for your patients if there is an interruption.

If you would like to participate in the exercise, this will be a drive-thru exercise where you can drive up, answer some questions on a form and receive your (simulated) medication (similar to the drive-thru flu clinics). In and out in less than ten minutes. There is also a “walk-up area” if you do not want to participate in the drive-thru. There is a link on the Internet where you can fill out the form, print and sign it, saves time in line. The link is: http://www.dispenseassist.net/anthraxnew.html?Type=anthrax. Please complete a form for each participant.

Should there be any questions, please call either the Riverside Emergency Management Director at 816-372-9104 or the Platte County Health Department at 816-587-5998, ext 333.

Updated NIXLEs will be given as needed.
