Clifton Bedore arrested for assault w/a deadly weapon after firing his gun at deputies responding to a disturbance

INCIDENT: Assault with a Deadly Weapon / Officer Involved Shooting
LOCATION: 600 block of Arth Drive, Crestline
VICTIM(S): #1 - San Bernardino Co. Deputy Sheriff
#2 – California Highway Patrol Officer
SUSPECT: Clifton Bedore, 38 years old, resident of Crestline
SUMMARY:
On Monday, March 12, 2018 at 7:26 p.m. deputies from the Twin Peaks Station responded to the Arth Drive residence following the report of a disturbance between the homeowner and her adult son. Deputies investigated the incident but were unable to locate Clifton.
A short time later, deputies were called back to the residence after a family member called and said the adult son, Clifton Bedore, was threatening to kill his mother and himself. Deputies were attempting to communicate with Bedore, when he fired from the upstairs bedroom, into the downstairs living room. Believing Bedore was engaging the officers in a gunfight, one deputy returned fired and Bedore immediately surrendered. Bedore was taken into custody without further incident. No one was injured.
Clifton Bedore was booked at West Valley Detention Center with bail set at $50,000.
Sheriff’s Homicide Investigators responded to conduct the investigation.
