Good Thursday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Wednesday, 3/14/18.

-FM 168 at Hwy 114, Smyer: Vehicle Crash. Deputies responded to a crash at the intersection. One of the parties fled the scene prior to arrival of personnel. A trooper arrived to conduct the crash investigation. Surrounding agencies were notified of the vehicle description of the vehicle that left the crash scene.

-US 62/82 at Owl Rd, Ropesville: Vehicle Crash. Deputies were dispatched to a single vehicle crash along the highway. Two individuals were transported by EMS for treatment. Troopers arrived on scene and conducted the crash investigation.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Fraud. A deputy was notified of a scam attempt that was received by a local business via fax. The scam requested the recipient contact a foreign lawyer to collect a cash payout.

-100 blk Detroit, Levelland: Assist EMS. A deputy responded to assist EMS with a patient. One individual was transported for treatment.

-US 62/82 at FM 2378, Ropesville: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate a reckless driver leaving Lubbock County along the highway. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 3/15/18 at 0800 hours: 47 in Hockley County, 8 to be processed, 15 out of county.
