Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man depicted in the below photo seated inside a vehicle and a second man inside Tony’s Liquor Store who is wanted for questioning in connection with a shooting that occurred there on Sunday, January 28, 2018.

At approximately 10:50 p.m., police responded to the store, located at 401 Clinton Avenue, on a call of a shooting. Officers located a victim who had been shot. The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and released.

While police are actively searching for the suspect, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from our streets. This investigation is continuing and police are seeking to question the second depicted man.
