Alert

WINTER STORM WARNING in effect for Washington Borough effective 6:00 p.m. Tuesday to 2:00 a.m. Thursday

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Washington Borough.  A winter storm warning indicates the potential for severe or damaging weather conditions.  Total snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches are expected.  Snow mixed with sleet and perhaps freezing rain at times will develop this afternoon and especially this evening, then change to all snow overnight and continue heavy at times Wednesday. The snow will taper off Wednesday evening.  Power outages are possible. Northeast to north winds should gust 20 to 30 mph at times.

Moving cars off of the street ahead of the storm is now more critical than ever due to the fact that there is still a large amount of debris at the roadside, and utility crews in addition to first responders will need unfettered access. Please help us ensure that the roads will remain clear during this next storm.  Vehicles left on the street during the storm are subject to ticketing and towing.  To stay informed before, during and after the storm, please opt in to Nixle alerts on your mobile device by texting your zip code to 888777 and by monitoring the official borough social media page on Facebook @washborowarren

Instructions:

Remove vehicles from the roads once roads become snow covered.
