(Etowah County, Alabama) A Marshall County man has been arrested in connection to burglary and theft of property, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

“Michael Coleman Stewart, 44, of Horton, is charged with one count of second degree burglary, a felony, and one count of fourth degree theft of property and attempting to elude, both misdemeanors,” Captain Jason Argo said.

Stewart allegedly entered a residence, located on Walter Whitt Road in Boaz, and stole a two-litter soda before fleeing the house. The homeowner was in the residence at the time of the burglary and theft. Stewart admitted to using illegal narcotics before the incident occurred.

Stewart is being detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $7,000 bond. A hold has been placed against him for Pardon and Paroles.
