Weather Conditions Update: Scattered showers will continue today 1”-2” rain for the mountain areas.

National Weather Service:
• Scattered showers will continue today into the evening, tapering off around midnight
• Precipitation expected today is ½” for the Valley and 1”-2” rain for the mountain areas
• There is a slight chance of rapidly moving thunderstorms in the mountains of Kern; the most likely area of impact will be north of Kern
• Strong wind gusts (30-40 mph) are possible with this event
• Primary hazard is forecast to be heavy rainfall, possible lightning, and gusty winds
• Snow level will remain high (9,000 – 10,000 ft), dropping to 7,000 -8,000 ft overnight
