Evansville woman arrested on child neglect charges after her 20 day old baby found unresponsive

On March 22 at 12:30pm, Evansville Police were called to 315 NW Martin Luther King Blvd for a report of an infant that had stopped breathing.
Medical crews arrived and found a 20 day old infant that was not breathing. The baby was taken to a local hospital where he is still receiving care.
EPD investigators went to the hospital and spoke with the boy's mother, ALIZAY HUNT, 19. Hunt old police she had last checked on her son around 4:00am. She went to sleep around 7:00am and woke at up around noon and saw he was not breathing. Hunt said she called 911 at that time.
Hunt was given a drug test by CPS and tested positive for Methamphetamine and Amphetamine. Hunt told investigators she has used meth as recently as March 20th.
Hospital staff told investigators the baby also tested positive for Methamphetamine and Amphetamine.
Hunt was arrested for Neglect of a Dependent resulting in Serious Bodily Injury.
