On March 26, 2018, at about 6:25 PM the Anderson Police Department received a report of a purse snatching that had just occurred in the Anderson Safeway, located in the 2600 block of Balls Ferry Rd.

A citizen contacted the Anderson Police Department after observing James Potter, age 20, of Anderson, running from the business carrying a sixty one year-old women's purse.

Potter had just snatched the purse from the women's shopping cart and fled the store. The woman attempted to chase after Potter, however he continued to flee.
