Check Fraud Suspect - Santee
Investigators from the Santee Sheriff’s Station want the public's help to locate a suspect wanted in connection with check fraud.
On February 1st, a man walked into the Mission Federal Credit Union located at 245 Town Center Parkway and cashed two checks that had been altered. The checks were originally made out by the victim to AT&T. When the suspect cashed the checks, the pay to the order line had been changed, as well as the amount on one of the checks. The total loss was about $450.
The same suspect is responsible for cashing numerous fraudulent checks totaling more than $2,700 across San Diego County.
The suspect is described as a 40 to 45-year-old Hispanic man with a heavy build. He stands about 5'5" tall and weighs approximately 250 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green button up shirt, a blue and white jacket with a yellow "Chargers” logo, a black baseball cap and unknown color pants.
If you recognize the man in these photos, call the Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at (888) 580-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward to anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case.
