Open burning of leaves, lawn waste or other items is NOT permitted within the City of Lanark. The ONLY allowable open fire is one consisting of campfire wood, and it MUST be contained inside a burn pit or ring. The use of a campfire to burn any other materials is a violation of City Code, and a citation with a fine will result.
If you see improper open burning, please report it to the Lanark Police Department at 815-493-6931. You may remain anonymous for the purposes of reporting the violation.
