Two Injured in Motorcycle Deer Crash

Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 3/30/2018 at approximately 11:00 pm, his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash that occurred near the intersection of Wells St. and Reynolds Rd, Pokagon Township, for a dirt bike that had struck a deer. Deputies were called to Borgess Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac where two subjects were dropped off by a witness to the crash. The driver of the dirt bike, Antionette Marie Anson, 29 year old Niles resident, sustained serious injuries from the crash. The passenger of the dirt bike, Jason Lee Heller, 36 year old Niles resident, also sustained injuries from the crash. Helmets were not used by either occupant. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. This case remains under investigation.
