The Johnson County Sheriff 911 Center is currently out of service. It is possible that the tower and or equipment was struck by lightning. Service technicians are on scene trouble shooting the problem. The dispatchers are working out of the mobile command center while the issue is being mitigated. We also have high water in many different areas in the county with travelers trying to get through the water. Do not circumvent the signs that have been placed by the County Highway Department. The computer screen shows that we are currently out on a couple of water rescues. These type of calls can be avoided by folks obeying the road closed signs. If no sign is in place and water is across the road turn around and go back.
