In an effort to improve our neighborhoods and city streets, the City of Lancaster conducts a variety of road construction projects which will ultimately benefit our citizens. While these construction zones typically restrict traffic flow for an interim period, the results provide smoother roads and better infrastructure in various locations throughout Lancaster. Additionally, a number of community events take place year-round throughout the City, resulting in temporary traffic detours during event setup, activity, and breakdown. The City of Lancaster strives to provide as many opportunities as possible for community gathering and engagement.

• The BLVD Market is an opportunity for the community to gather and enjoy an offering of fresh produce and unique items in an open market atmosphere. The Market switches to summer hours this week, taking place every Thursday from 4 – 9 p.m. on Lancaster BLVD, between Ehrlich Avenue and Fern Avenue. This area will be closed to traffic and parking from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Market days.
• Northbound and southbound lane closures are in effect on 10^th Street West, between Avenue M and Avenue K-15, through April 2018. The scope of work includes street widening and repair; drainage improvements; sidewalk, curb and gutter construction and repairs; as well as street light and traffic signal improvements.
• The intersection of 10^th Street West and Avenue L-8 will intermittently be in 4-way flash for paving operations between April 9 and April 13, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  In addition, northbound and southbound lane closures on 10^th Street West, between Avenue L and Avenue M, continue, with detours in place for paving operations between April 9 and April 13, 2018. Expect delays.
• Northbound and southbound lane closures will be in effect on 20^th Street West, between Avenue J and Avenue I, through May 2018. The scope of work includes street repairs; drainage improvements; sidewalk, curb and gutter construction and repairs; as well as street lighting and traffic signal improvements.
• Lane closures are in the vicinity of 10^th Street West and Avenue K, due to major roadwork associated with The Oasis project on the northwest corner.
• Intermittent lane closures are in the vicinity of 10^th Street West and Avenue K-8, due to utility and road work associated with the Ram of the West project.  Expect delays.
• Eastbound and westbound lane closures will be in effect on Avenue I, between Fern Avenue and 17^th Street West, beginning April 9 through June 23 for Avenue I Corridor Improvements. The scope of work includes landscape medians, sidewalk and driveway improvements, as well as street renovations.
• Lane closures are in the vicinity of 40^th Street West, between Avenue J and Avenue L, due to utility maintenance operations for the County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County (LACSD).
• Lanes closures are in the vicinity of Avenue L, between 40^th Street West and 45^th Street West, due to utility maintenance operations for the County Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County (LACSD).
