The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assisting in locating a wanted fugitive registered sex offender. On 04/05/2018, an arrest warrant was issued for 27 year old Mitchell Wayne Hephner of Angola by the Steuben Superior Court charging Hephner with 2 counts of failure to register as a sex or violent offender, a level 6 felony and one count of failure to register as a sex or violent offender with a previous conviction, a level 5 felony. Hephner’s last known whereabouts were in the 400 block of East Maumee St in the city of Angola. Hephner is described as a white male standing 6’01” tall and weighing approximately 165 lbs. He has brown eyes and short brown hair with several tattoos most noticeably around the neck and throat area. Anyone with information on Hephner’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office or Steuben County Crime Stoppers.
