The Moonachie Police Department has been receiving numerous reports of vehicle burglary/thefts. It appears that the burglary/thefts have been happening during the overnight hours, however, it can happen at any time. At this time it appears that all of the victim vehicles have been left unlocked and thieves have been walking down streets, checking door handles and removing items from unlocked cars. These are crimes of opportunity, do not become a victim. Do not leave valuable items in your cars and always lock the doors when leaving cars unattended. And as always, report any and all suspicious activity or people in your neighborhood so police can investigate. Thank you.
