Deputy David Jones of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Randall Lewis Brooks, 54, of 2188 Lackey Town Road in Old Fort, with burglary.
During the early morning hours of Monday, March 19, Shirley Moore reported that she had been asleep in her Lackey Town Road home, when somebody started knocking on her door. She grabbed a pistol and, a few minutes later, the suspect busted the glass out of her door and entered. Moore pointed the pistol at the man and told him to leave, which he did.
Moore was acquainted with the suspect, identified as Brooks, because he is a neighbor and had done odd jobs around her house.
