RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO 7 PM CDT THIS EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY
The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 7 PM CDT
this evening.
* WIND...Sustained southwest winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts of
30 to 45 mph. The strongest winds will occur west of Interstate
49.
* HUMIDITY...25 to 35 percent with the lowest humidity values
occurring along and east of the Highway 65 corridor.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
Any burn permits within the city limits of Humansville will not be valid today due to this alert.
