UPDATE :
On April 10, 2018 the Polk County Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant for “First Degree Murder”, in the death of Karen Denise Jenkins.
Jeremy Lynn Bradshaw of Columbus N.C., was taken into custody yesterday afternoon and is being held at the Polk County Jail.
Previously Bradshaw had been charged with “Concealing a Death and Obstruction of Justice” in reference to the disappearance of Karen Jenkins.
Jenkins was first reported missing in January 2018 to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office. It was later determined Jenkins was last known to be in Polk County N.C. The investigation was then forwarded to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office for further investigation.
The investigation led detectives to an old abandoned well located outside of Columbus on Old Highway 19.
Human remains were later identified to be those of missing person Karen Jenkins. An autopsy was performed to determine the cause of death.
A press conference is scheduled today at 2pm at the Womack building in Columbus.
