Today, April 12th and Friday April 13th contractors will begin preparation work for stamped concrete crosswalks in the Elyria Downtown area. Court Street, 2nd Street and Kerstetter Way will experience traffic delays as crews prepare to install concrete crosswalks on Kerstetter Way at Broad Street; on 2nd Street at the west side of Court Street; and on Court Street between Commerce Court and 3rd Street.
Beginning on Monday, April 16th at 6:00am and continuing until Monday April 23rd, 2018 Kerstetter Way & Broad Street, 2nd Street on West side of Court Street and Court Street between 2nd Street and 3rd Street will be closed to all traffic with no pass through during these projects.
The Detour Route for the County Court House will be Court Street from Broad Street south across 2nd Street and south to Commerce Court. Exit out Commerce Court to 2nd Street and 2nd Street west to West Avenue. Access can also be from Middle & 2nd Street, west to Court Street and south to Commerce Court and out though Commerce Court. There will be no access to 3rd Street.
The Detour Route for 2nd Street: 2nd Street will be completely closed at the west side of Court Street. Court Street through the 2nd Street intersection will remain open. 2nd Street will be closed at West Avenue with access only to the City Hall Parking lot. Drivers that normally use 2nd Street should use 3rd Street and Broad Street as detour routes.
The Detour Route for Kerstetter Way: Kerstetter Way will be completely closed at the Broad Street crosswalk. Local traffic for access to Kerstetter Way businesses should use West Avenue.
