Newberry County Coroner’s Office along with the South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating a signal vehicle (motorcycle) collision that occurred in the early morning hours of April 14, 2018 on Airport Road between Nance Street and Louis Rich Road, Newberry County.
According to Coroner Laura Kneece, 46 year old, Mr. Stephen R. Herlong of Whitmire and 27 year old Ms. Amy Miller of Newberry were pronounced on scene due to injuries sustained in the motorcycle collision. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death. Mr. Herlong nor Ms. Miller were wearing helmets.
This incident remains under investigation by Newberry County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol.
