(Etowah County, Alabama) A registered sex offender from Maine was arrested in Etowah County for a sex offender violation, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.

Investigator Adam Chapman said, “Nicholas Anthony Corrado, 28, of Sanford, Maine, is charged with two counts of violation of the sex offender registration notification act, which is a felony.”

Investigator Chapman saw Corrado walking on Tidmore Bend Road, near the intersection of Kreekview Road. When asked for his ID, Corrado said he did not have a valid ID. He also stated that he is a registered sex offender from Maine and may possibly have a warrant for his arrest for leaving the State without permission.

Being a sex offender, Corrado is required by law to have appropriate ID with him and provide it when asked for. It was confirmed that a warrant has been issued through Maine for Failure to Appear as a Sex Offender.

Corrado had been living at a residence on Troy Street, Gadsden, for approximately four months.

He is currently in the Etowah County Detention Center without bond.
