BWS Finds, Seals Komo Mai Dr. Leak
Apr. 19, 10:00 p.m.: The Board of Water Supply (BWS) crew working on Komo Mai Dr. near the hair-pin turn have located and patched the leak in the main which was repaired last week. They have begun the process of filling the trench and laying down a fresh temporary asphalt patch. They hope to have the repair completed and equipment removed from the area by midnight.
Crews arrived at the site at about 4:00 p.m., today, and set up signage and cones in preparation for the work. The then began excavation of the previous main repair site. As of 10:00 p.m., crews had found and repaired the leak and were working to finish the project.
Two lanes will remain open at the site in a modified traffic pattern. Motorists are asked to please slow down and proceed carefully through the area. Special duty police officers will be at the scene to facilitate traffic flow and safety.
Water service to Pacific Palisades residents should remain available for the duration of the work. Customers in the Momilani subdivision, including Pearl City High School and Momilani Elementary School, may experience lower-than-normal water pressure during repair work. Residents in these areas are asked to conserve water. Use what you need for cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene, but postpone other non-essential water use.
The BWS appreciates your patience.
One more update will be sent when crews clear the area.
