03/01/2018 *Arrest – Operating While Intoxicated 2nd Offense
300 Block of E North Territorial Officers responded to a Suspicious Situation/Person, Investigation revealed subject had been driving and further investigation revealed he was intoxicated.
03/01/2018 *Theft of Golf Cart
1111 Six Mile Rd –Whitmore Lake Golf Course reported a missing/stolen golf cart. No suspects or witnesses vehicle entered into police data base as stolen
03/01/2018 *Fraud
9400 Main St – Complainant filed a report that someone stole checks from his checkbook and cashed them at the local market. A possible suspect has been identified and the case remains under investigation.
03/03/2018 * Arrest – Assault & Battery Domestic-Disorderly
Person - Malicious Destruction of Property & Obstruction of Justice
9100 Block of Elizabeth - Complainant called to report an out of control female subject – Officers arrived and observed property damage and an uncooperative female subject. Investigation revealed an assault had taken place, subject was arrested and further charged with obstruction of Justice.
03/12/18 *Home Invasion without Force
200 Block of E Five Mile Rd – Homeowner left her residence unsecured for a brief time and returned to discover signs that someone may have entered her home without her permission. Nothing appeared missing – A special attention was given by officers with no additional incidents being reported.
03/13/2018 *4 Arrests –Threats of Violence against the School
Witness contacted Northfield Police regarding an overheard conversation causing fear for the safety of classmates at Whitmore Lake High School. Investigation revealed the threats were credible and four arrests were made. A False Report or Threat of Terrorism warrant was issued for two of the suspects.
03/13/2018 *Arrest – Assault & Battery
Whitmore Lake H.S – A delayed report of two female students who had been fighting – Investigation revealed one student grabbed and punched anther – officer identified the 17 year old suspect and took her into custody. Charges were authorized for Assault & Battery.
03/14/2018 *Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile (Stolen Auto)
7600 Block of Spencer between March 13 & 14th someone took without authority the victims 2009 Ford Escape. The vehicle was parked in victim’s driveway. On 03/14/2018, Northville Twp Police recovered vehicle unoccupied in their jurisdiction.
03/16/2018 *Identity Theft/Fraud
E.Shore Drive - Resident reported that someone from Chicago opened an account using victim /residents’ identity and failed to pay for a cable service – The account open from July 2017- March 2018 had been turned over to a collection agency. Victim documented incident and was attempting to make themselves whole.
03/18/2018 * Hit & Run –Property Damage
Northfield Estates – Complainant reported that during the evening of March 17 her parked vehicle was struck by an unknown vehicle causing damage. Officers responded, investigated, but were unable to locate the striking vehicle. No witnesses
03/19/2018 *Identity Theft – Fraud Attempt
1600 Block of 7 Mile – Victim reported that she was contacted regarding two money transfer transactions, neither were authorized. A search warrant was obtained, a suspect identified and an arrest warrant request submitted
03/22/2018 *Trespass Warning
400 Block of Barker – Complainant reported that a known acquaintance had entered his home without consent – Officers warned intruder of Criminal Trespass charges, subject left promising not to return
03/23/2018 *Arrest - Felonious Assault –
400 Block of Ruby Lane – Officers responded to a man with a knife threatening victims. Officers located and confronted subject, confiscated knives and arrested subject. A warrant was sought and issued for Dangerous Weapon - Carrying with Unlawful Intent Subject remains in custody
03/23/2018 * Home Invasion –
East 5 Mile Rd - Day time Break In occurred between 5:45 am & 6:30pm Homeowner returned home to discover the house ransacked and property missing. Entry gained through unsecured door. Officers followed up on some leads and the case remains open.
03/23/2018 *Home Invasion-
7200 Block of Whitmore Lake –Break In occurred between 2pm & 11:00pm Homeowner returned home to discover house ransacked and property missing. . Entry gained through an unsecured door. Evidence collected, officers followed up on a lead and the case remains open – possibly tied to 5 Mile Incident
03/27/2018 *Identity Theft – Fraud
Margaret St- Victim advised that someone opened a cable account in her name without authorization – and failed to pay for a cable service – Victim discovered the account when it was turned over to a collection agency. Victim documented incident and was attempting to resolve the issue.
3/28/2018 *Arrest –Fugitive Warrant- Driving on Suspended
License –Unlawful Driving Away an Automobile – No Insurance & Improper Plates
9100 Block of Elizabeth – Officer on Patrol recognized the driver of vehicle as a wanted subject – traffic stop of subject confirmed an outstanding warrant for Aggravated Assault, further investigation revealed driver had a suspended driver’s license, vehicle had no insurance and the plate was improper. Driver was arrested and turned over to the jurisdiction holding the warrant. The investigation continues as the vehicle may have been taken without owner’s permission.
03/28/2017 *Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile – Stolen Moped
Emerald Circle – Complainant stated that sometime between 4:30 am and 8 am, someone removed the moped he was repairing from his property without his permission. Case remains under investigation.
03/29/2018 *Arrest - Crash Investigation – Operating while Intoxicated
Six Mile & Madouse – One car crash investigation determined the driver was suspected of drinking and driving.. Subject was unable to complete sobriety tasks and was arrested for Operating a vehicle while Intoxicated. Charges are pending waiting lab results.
03/29/2018 *Suspicious Telephone Contact offering Medical Supplies
2400 Block of North Territorial – elderly resident received a call from someone presenting themselves as a representative from a local hospital offering an upgrade in medical equipment. During the conversation the callers requested complainant’s social security number –Social Security to be notified and fraud alerts placed on resident’s personal information and credit cards.
03/30/2018 *Arrest – Crash Investigation – Operating while Intoxicated
Barker & Turquoise – Single vehicle crash investigation revealed the driver was suspected of drinking and driving – Subject had difficulty with sobriety tasks and was arrested for Operating a vehicle while Intoxicated. Case awaiting Prosecutors review.
04/01/2018 *Larceny (theft without force) from Motor Vehicle
100 Block of Jade Lane – approximately 1:30 am vehicle owner observed vehicle dome light on and discovered a television set missing from his back seat. Officers searched the area for suspects or property following up on a possible lead– no witnesses, no evidence at the scene
04/02/2018 *Unlawful Driving Away of an Automobile (Stolen Truck)
6300 Block of Whitmore Lake – A company van was discovered missing when it was recovered in Detroit. No valuable evidence was left in the vehicle- owner back in possession of vehicle.
04/03/2018 *Fraudulent Use of A Credit Card
1600 Block of E North Territorial - Victim received bank contact that his business account was over drawn –after reviewing his statements it was discovered that unauthorized purchases against his account had been made at several establishments, in several cities. Report filed, bank notified of these unauthorized purchases.
04/04/2018 *2 Arrests – Threats of Violence against the School
The school contacted Northfield Police regarding an overheard conversation causing fear for the safety of classmates at Livingston Classical Academy, housed in the Whitmore Lake Middle School Building. Investigation revealed the threats were credible and two juvenile detention/ arrests were made. A False Report or Threat of Terrorism juvenile petition was issued for the two of the suspects.
04/05/2018 *Arrest – Trespassing –Outstanding Warrants
400 Block of Barker – Unwanted Acquaintance who had previously been warned of trespass, had again entered complainants home without owner’s permission and was discovered inside. Subject was arrested and it was learned subject had additional warrants for her arrest.
04/06/2018 *Larceny (Theft) of Boat Motor
400 Block of East Shore- Homeowner reported that some time between 7:30 am – 4:30pm an unknown subject cut a padlock and removed a 6 hp mercury 4 stroke outboard motor from the boat that was stored in the driveway. No witnesses or suspects
04/07/2018 *Traffic Stop – Marijuana confiscated
US 23 & Joy Rd – Traffic investigation revealed driver had a suspended driver’s license and suspected marijuana in the vehicle. Vehicle was impounded and the driver released pending lab results and prosecutor’s review.
04/07/2018 *Arrest – Fugitive Warrant
US 23 & 6 Mile Rd – Traffic Violation resulted in stop and determination that vehicle had no insurance and a improper plate while the passenger had an fugitive warrant. The vehicle was impounded and the passenger arrested and transported to the jurisdiction holding the warrant.
04/09/2018 *Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card
7100 Avery Lane - Victim reported that unauthorized purchases were made at a few locations which over drafted a debit card used for gasoline purchases. Review of activity revealed that the debit card was used to withdraw over $600.00 from the account. Report Filed, Bank Notified. Case remains under investigation.
04/10/2018 *Home Invasion
500 Block of East Shore – A neighbor discovered the lock broken from the pedestrian door – Officers arrived and checked the house, no one was found in the house and no property appeared to be missing. Homeowner contacted and residence secured.
04/11/2018 *Arrest – Assault with Intent to Murder
152 Barker Rd - Peaberry Bean & Beats Victim/ employee was strangled by a suspect who fled the scene; Officers arrested suspect shortly after the incident was reported. Zachary A. Campbell, 19. of Whitmore Lake Is being held on a two count warrant for Assault with Intent to Murder & Assault with intent to do Great Bodily Harm Less than Murder by Strangulation. Victim was treated and released from the hospital.
04/13/2018 *Identity Theft – Tax Fraud
4600 Block of 6 Mile – Victim reports that upon filing his tax return it was discovered that someone else had filed a return using Victims identity. Victim was advised to file paperwork with Social Security and the IRS.
04/19/2018 *Identity Theft – Fraudulent use of Credit Card
8800 Block of Garfield – Victim reported that someone used her Credit card to make unauthorized internet purchases and sent the property to California. Victim received email notification of the purchases. The card and transactions were cancelled.
