HARVEY RE-CONSTRUCTION & DEBRIS SERVICES CEASE 4/30/18

The City completed its Hurricane Harvey debris operation on Friday, November 10th. However, the City recognized that the some Harvey-affected property owners continued to demo their walls and flooring, that repairs and re-construction was on-going, and that the Harvey recovery was on-going. Therefore, the City continued to collect this debris (construction debris such as sheet rock and flooring, trash such as mattresses and furniture) from homes impacted by the storm at no additional cost to the customer. The City does not collect broken concrete, tires, or household hazardous waste, such as paint, batteries, etc.
The City will cease providing this additional service at the end of the month. However, the City will work with affected property owners on a case-by-case basis if their demo and re-construction have not commenced or is on-going. These property owners must contact the City Manager’s Office at (409) 723-1503.
