Narrative:
On April 7, 2018, Deputies from the Thousand Oaks Police Department responded to a call for service regarding an incident that occurred in the 700 block of Moorpark Road.  During the initial investigation, patrol deputies determined three male suspects challenged a victim to fight.  Shortly thereafter, one of the suspects battered the victim.  The suspects were identified by the victim as (S) Francisco Fernandez, (S) Alain Alvarez Ceja and (S) Irvin Arjona.  All three suspects are documented Thousand Oaks gang members.  All three suspects “flashed” gang signs prior to and after the crime.
 
Detectives with the Thousand Oaks Police Department’s Special Enforcement Unit assumed the investigation and obtained search warrants for the suspects’ residences, located in the 800 block of Warwick Avenue and the 2000 block of Los Feliz Drive in the City of Thousand Oaks. 
 
On April 25, 2018, Detectives with the Special Enforcement Unit, Directed Enforcement Unit and Investigations Bureau served search warrants at the residences.  During the service of the search warrants, Detectives located evidence of the suspects’ gang affiliations.  During a search of a residence in the 800 block of Warwick Avenue, Detectives also located a short barreled shotgun and a weapon commonly referred to as “Metal knuckles.”  Detectives also located and arrested Fernandez, Ceja and Arjona for their involvement in the battery.
 
Alvarez was arrested for 186.22(d) PC – Participation in a Criminal Street Gang, 182(a)(1) – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, 415(1) PC – Disturbing the Peace by Fighting, 242 PC – Battery, 33215 PC – Possess Short Barreled Shotgun, 21810 PC – Possess Metal Knuckles, 27545 PC – Unlawful Transfer of Firearm, and 25100(c) – Criminal Storage of a Firearm.  Alvarez was booked into the East Valley Jail where his bail was set at $100,000.  Fernandez and Arjona were arrested for 186.22(d) PC – Participation in a Criminal Street Gang, 182(a)(1) PC – Conspiracy to Commit A Crime, and 415(1) PC – Disturbing the Peace by Fighting.  Fernandez and Arjona were booked into the East County Jail, where Fernandez’ bail was set at $100,000 and Arjona’s bail was set at $210,000.
