Two suspects arrested in a stolen vehicle and found to be in possession of several other stolen items

LOCATION: 25500 block of Jade Road, Lenwood
SUSPECT: Josh Perrone, age 19 of Barstow
Aaron Campbell, age 20 of Silver Lakes
SUMMARY:
On April 21, 2018, at approximately 12:24 am, a citizen in the 25500 block of Jade Road in Lenwood contacted Sheriff’s Dispatch to report that an unknown subject had just taken her Honda Civic from her driveway. Deputies from the Barstow Sheriff’s Station responded to the area and observed the Civic driving down the 25000 block of Jasper Road. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and the three occupants fled on foot. Two of the occupants were apprehended with the assistance of the California Highway Patrol and were later identified to be Josh Perrone and Aaron Campbell. The third suspect is still outstanding and has not yet been identified.
A loaded handgun, ammunition, and a magazine were located in the driver’s seat of the stolen vehicle. The gun had been reported stolen to the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station on April 2, 2018. Vehicle parts and other types of personal property were also located within the vehicle and were determined to have been reported stolen to the Victorville Police Department on April 20, 2018.
Campbell was determined to be the driver of the stolen vehicle and attempted to give false information regarding his identity. Campbell was subsequently arrested for carrying a loaded firearm, concealing a firearm within a vehicle in public, providing false identification to a police officer of a real person without permission, felon in possession of ammunition, felon in possession of a loaded firearm, and possession of stolen property. Perrone was arrested for vehicle theft and possession of a stolen vehicle.
