Good Monday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Friday, 4/27/18, through Sunday, 4/29/18.

4/27/18

-800 blk Quail Rd, Smyer: Traffic Complaint. A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle speeding along Quail Rd. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

-FM 168 at FM 41, Ropesville: Fire. A deputy was dispatched to check the area for a possible grass fire. The area was checked and no fire was located.

-Hwy 114 at FM 2378, Lubbock. Vehicle Crash. A deputy responded to the area related to a reported vehicle crash. It was determined the crash occurred in Lubbock County. DPS and Lubbock SO personnel were on scene.

-300 blk 11th St, Levelland: Assist EMS. A deputy stopped to assist EMS at a residence, and stayed on scene as needed.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Theft. A deputy contacted a complainant regarding a theft offense. It was determined the offense occurred in another county, and the individual was forwarded to the appropriate jurisdiction to file the offense report.

-US 84 near FM 2130, Anton: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to check the area for a loose horse. The horse was secured prior to arrival of the deputy.

4/28/18

-1100 blk 1st St, Levelland: Warrant Service. Deputies contacted an individual with an active warrant at a residence in the area. One individual was placed under arrest and transported to the jail without incident.

-3400 blk India Rd, Levelland: Theft. A deputy responded to a residence related to a complaint of stolen firearms. Information for a report was taken and the incident is under investigation.

-6100 blk Maine Rd, Anton: Disturbance. Deputies were dispatched to a reported domestic disturbance at a residence. During the investigation two individuals were placed under arrest for Tampering with Evidence charges. Evidence was later recovered and the individuals were booked into the jail without incident.

-W Houston at Evening Tower Rd, Levelland: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was notified of a silver Ford pickup in the area. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.

-Hwy 114 at Alamo Rd, Levelland: Traffic Obstruction. A deputy assisted in removing debris that was blocking the roadway.

4/29/18

-1900 blk College Ave, Levelland: Assist Other Agency. A deputy responded to the hospital to assist with an investigation related to child welfare. Information was collected and forwarded to the appropriate agency.

-100 blk Lincoln, Smyer: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a residence. Following an investigation into a reported assault, one individual was placed under arrest for Assault and transported to the jail without incident. Reports are pending on the incident.

-2300 blk East Ellis, Levelland: Disturbance. Deputies responded to a reported domestic disturbance at a residence. The incident was reported to be verbal only and parties were separated. No offenses were reported.

-FM 168 at Maine Rd, Anton: Suspicious Vehicle. A deputy was dispatched to check on a vehicle parked in the area. While en route the deputy was notified the vehicle left the area. No offenses were reported.

-FM 300 at West Avenue, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was dispatched to attempt to locate loose cattle in the area. The area was checked and no loose cattle were located.

-1800 blk Hwy 385, Levelland: Shots Fired. A deputy responded to a report of gun shots being heard in the area. An individual was contacted and was found to have been legally shooting on his property. No offenses were observed or reported.

-Hwy 84 near FM 168, Anton: Pedestrian Contact. A deputy contacted an individual walking along Hwy 84. The individual wanted a ride to Lubbock County and was taken to the county line.

-Parrot Rd at US 62/82, Ropesville: Alarm. A deputy responded to an alarm at a business in the area. The property was checked and found to be secure.

-2800 blk Belvedere, Levelland: Welfare Check. A deputy was dispatched to a residence to check welfare of an individual. Multiple subjects were contacted and no offenses were reported. The individual was left in the care of other adults.

-US 62/82 at FM 41, Ropesville: Vehicle Crash. A deputy was notified of a vehicle rollover in the area. DPS troopers arrived on scene to conduct the crash investigation. Deputies assisted as needed.

-800 blk Avenue H, Levelland: Assist Levelland PD. Deputies assisted with a reported fight in progress at a residence in the area. Deputies assisted on scene and PD units conducted the investigation.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, investigative follow-up activities, and civil process service.

Jail population as of 4/30/18 at 0800 hours: 52 in Hockley County, 4 to be processed, 32 out of county.
