Good Tuesday morning! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Monday, 4/30/18.

-FM 300 at Black Gold Rd, Levelland: Abandoned Vehicle. A deputy responded to a report of a vehicle in the right of way. Multiple attempts were made to locate the owner, and the vehicle was later towed from the area due to traffic hazards.

-Quail Rd at Filly Rd, Smyer: Illegal Dumping. A deputy was dispatched to the area and located several places where property was dumped along the roadway. Several items were recovered and the incident is under investigation.

-FM 300 at Guywire Rd, Levelland: Loose Livestock. A deputy was notified of loose cattle in the area. The cattle were secured.

-6800 blk Elephant Rd, Smyer: Welfare Check. Deputies responded to check welfare of several individuals at a residence. Both were located and refused any medical attention. No offenses were observed or reported. APS was also notified.

-100 blk Hwy 114 Estates, Smyer: Welfare Check. A deputy responded to a residence to check welfare of an individual who was supposed to have arrived at a different location but had not checked in. The individual was located and advised to contact the complainant.

-100 blk Leon Rd, Smyer: Theft. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to stolen lawn mowers. Three mowers were reported stolen. The incident is under investigation.

-100 blk Crestview, Levelland: Criminal Mischief. A deputy responded to a residence related to a complaint of a broken windshield. Information was collected for a report and the incident is under investigation.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, and investigative follow-up activities.

Jail population as of 5/81/18 at 0800 hours: 51 in Hockley County, 6 to be processed, 30 out of county.
