Concert season at Mattress Firm Amphitheatre starts this Friday, May 4.

Concert season at Mattress Firm Amphitheatre in Chula Vista starts this Friday, May 4. There’s a variety of music genre scheduled this year from rock and hip hop to country and heavy metal! To help you enjoy the concerts, please keep the following in mind. Back packs are prohibited and all bags will be checked. All attendees will be subject to security screening. You may bring one 20 oz. factory sealed bottle of water (not frozen) and one clear gallon size bag of food. Some shows do not allow chairs or blankets. To confirm what is and isn’t allowed at each show, please check the website, www.livenation.com as requirements do change per artist.

Friday's show will be Latin singer Luis Miguel with a crowd of 15,000 expected. The parking lot opens at 2 p.m. and the gates at 6 p.m.

Please allow adequate time to travel to the venue prior to show time. Besides the South I-805/Main Street exit, alternate routes to Mattress Firm include I-5 South to I-905 East to I-805 North and exit Main Street or use the South Bay Expressway (toll road) to Otay Mesa Road. And Heritage Road from Olympic Parkway to Main Street is now open.

Uber/rideshare drop off location has changed to the dirt lot on the north side, near Lot A. New parking lot signs by letter and color should help attendees remember where they parked! Residents in the area should be advised that traffic is normally heavy from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. prior and following each concert.

Only uniformed CVPD will be allowed to carry weapons as absolutely no guns are allowed in the venue even for off-duty law enforcement. Also, CVPD will routinely patrol the parking lot to discourage under-age drinking. Have fun but stay safe!
