Advisory

Severe weather; threat is storms with damaging winds up to 70 mph and large hail is possible. 6-8:00 pm KC Metro.

The main threat is damaging winds up to 70 mph (45% Probability), but large hail (30% Probability) is possible as well. A few isolated tornadoes are also possible (10% Probability) and with linear storms, tornadoes can spin up quickly. Flash flooding is a possibility early tomorrow morning with additional storms developing behind the line in eastern KS and western MO.

A line of storms is expected to move through eastern KS and MO this evening through the overnight hours.

• Time of Arrival: 4-5 PM for far northeastern KS and far northwestern MO; 7-8 PM for KC Metro; 10;00 PM – 12:00 AM for central MO.
• The main threat is damaging winds up to 70 mph, but large hail is possible as well. A few isolated tornadoes are also possible and with linear storms, tornadoes can spin up quickly.
• Flash flooding is a possibility early tomorrow morning with additional storms developing behind the line in eastern KS and far western MO.
• Storms will persist into Thursday, with severe chances looking to be highly dependent on the antecedent storms from tonight, but there looks to be a continuing severe thunderstorm chance for Thursday, mostly from hail, wind, and flooding rains. Flash flooding is possible
early tomorrow morning as additional storms move from eastern Kansas into western Missouri behind the initial line.
