Press Release: Suspect Arrested for Lewd Acts with a Child

DATE: April 20, 2018
LOCATION: Fantasia Performance and Art Center, 487 Los Coches St., Milpitas, CA
CASE #: 18-110-076
SUSPECT: Raymond Juichung Chen, 35 year-old male, Fremont resident

On Friday, April 20, 2018 at approximately 10:20 AM, a 16 year-old female contacted the Milpitas Police Department about a sexual assault, which occurred several years ago, at the Fantasia Performance and Art Center, located at 487 Los Coches Street in Milpitas. The victim, who was approximately 10-years old at the time of the assault, said employee Raymond Chen sexually assaulted her at the facility while she attended the aftercare program. During the course of the investigation, detectives discovered that Chen sexually assaulted four additional minor female victims that previously attended the center.

On Saturday, April 21, 2018, at approximately 1:00 PM, Milpitas Police officers contacted Raymond Chen at Fantasia Performance and Art Center and took him into custody. Detectives interviewed Chen and, later, booked him into the Santa Clara County Jail for multiple counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child. The case is still on-going.

Milpitas Police detectives believe it is possible that Chen may have sexually assaulted other children attending Fantasia Performance and Art Center and we are asking anyone who might have had contact with Chen to call the Milpitas Police Department at (408) 586-2400. Additionally, the information can be given anonymously by calling the Crime Tip Hotline at (408) 586-2500 or via the Milpitas Police Department website at: http://www.ci.milpitas.ca.gov/crimetip
