Traffic Alert - East Allendale Rd - Heavy Volume due to road construction on Lake St.
The Bergen County Road Department has advised that they will be resurfacing Lake Street from East Saddle River Road to East Crescent Avenue. This work will incorporate both the milling and paving of the roadway, thus requiring the closing of Lake Street at various locations. Work will begin on or about Monday, May 7, 2018. The County contractor estimates that the entire project will run approximately eight to ten days. Work will be performed between the hours of 7am and 5pm, Monday–Friday. Traffic delays can be expected. Based on the significant work that will be done, the Police Department recommends using alternate routes of travel.
For the safety of the work crew please follow the direction of any traffic control personnel. Detour signs and other advisory signs will be used to assist motorists around the work zone.
Below is the tentative schedule provided by the contractor:
Milling
Day 1-East Saddle River Road to West Saddle River Road
Day 2-West Saddle River Road to Vernal Woods
Day 3-Vernal Woods to Roxbury Downs
Day 4-Roxbury Downs to Shadow Road
Day 5-Shadow Road to East Crescent Avenue
Paving
Three days
Please note the above schedule is tentative and can change due to weather and/or other issues that may arise during the milling and paving operations.
