Detectives looking for more victims of sexual assault after Wilfred Marquez of Barstow was convicted of lewd acts with a child.

SUSPECT: Wilfred Lawrence Marquez, age 47, of Barstow
VICTIM: Confidential, Minor
SUMMARY:
On August 7, 2017, deputies responded to a call regarding allegations of sexual abuse by a 47 year old male to a female victim under the age of 14. During the investigation, Deputy Evans was able to gather evidence linking Wilfred Lawrence Marquez to the sexual abuse. Deputy Rodriguez assisted with the investigation after it was determined there was a second victim.
On August 9, 2017, Marquez was interviewed by Detective McWilliams at the Barstow Sheriff’s Station. The reports were sent to the District Attorney’s Office for review.
The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office filed charges on Marquez. On May 2, 2018, Marquez was convicted of lewd and lascivious acts with a child.
