The “Nederland Avenue Paving, Drainage, and Utility Improvements” project bid was awarded to Gulf Coast, an Old Castle Company, in the amount of $4,976,227.61. The project includes the re-surfacing of Nederland Avenue between Twin City Highway and Highway 69, drainage improvements along 12th Street from the DD7 ditch on South 12th Street to the alley between Chicago and Boston Avenues, and waterline replacement along Nederland Avenue between 27th and 30th Streets.
Construction begins on Monday, May 7th at night. The roadwork starts on Nederland Avenue between the Twin City Highway and 14th/15th Streets area. Working at night will minimize interruptions to traffic and the affected businesses and property owners. The contractor will work to minimize any property access issues during construction.
