Detectives are investigating the death of David Dodson who was found unresponsive in his truck

VICTIM: David Dodson, age 41 a resident of Red Mountain
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at approximately 4:20 pm, fire personnel from the Kern County Fire Department responded to an unresponsive male, seated inside a pick-up truck in front of a residence in the 600 block of Red Mountain Road. When fire personnel arrived, the victim was found to be deceased; there were no visible signs of trauma. Fire personnel recognized the victim from a previous call the night before and requested a deputy respond to the location.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division-Homicide Detail responded to conduct a death investigation. During the investigation, homicide investigators learned on Monday, May 7, 2018, at approximately 10:40 p.m., the victim was involved in an altercation in Kern County. The victim had sustained a minor injury to his hand and refused medical-aid.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.
