Deputies follow gunshots and locate two suspects and methamphetamine 
Detective Patrick Guion of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 42-year-old Jason Scott Calloway, of 290 Fox Road in Old Fort, and 36-year-old Jennifer Leigh Mathis, of 29 Abigail Drive in Old Fort, with possession of methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine.
At approximately noon on Friday, April 13, Deputy Brian Walker of the Sheriff’s Office responded with Old Fort police officers to reports of someone firing a gun on Old U.S. 70. They arrived in the area to find Calloway and Mathis. Calloway admitted to firing the gun.
Guion was notified and a search of the residence the two had been in at 322 Old U.S. 70 West turned up 5.6 grams of methamphetamine.
Old Fort officers issued Calloway a citation for discharging a firearm.
