Board of Water Supply (BWS) repair of a broken 6-inch water main is forcing the closure of two ewa-bound lanes on N. School St. between Ahonui and Hauiki Sts. Only one lane in each direction is open for traffic, as one of the town-bound lanes is being contraflowed.
Motorists are still advised to find alternate routes and avoid the area if possible. If they are unable to do so, motorists are asked to drive through the area slowly with caution.
Originally the main break was thought to be on the 16-inch water main, but it turned out to be on a 6-inch main, instead. The same 22 customers continue to be without water service and water wagons are being made available at the site for them.
