On March 14th, 7:05 a.m., police responded to a report for a domestic in progress, on Pine Street. The call came from a third-party caller. A Smithton Officer was requested for back-up. The Millstadt Officer arrived on and discovered a broken window on the residence and could hear yelling coming from inside the residence. The officer made entry, and quickly took a male subject in custody. It was learned the suspect also interfered with the victim calling 9-1-1 for help. During the investigation the male was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. The male was arrested and later released, pending lab results of the suspected controlled substance. On May 8th the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office charged the defendant, Michael C. Robinett, age 26 of Millstadt, with the following:
Count 1: Possession of a Controlled Substance; in that he knowingly and unlawfully had in his possession a substance containing Alprazolam. – A Class 4 Criminal Felony.
Count 2: Domestic Battery; in that he knowingly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with the victim, a family or household member of the defendant, in that he pushed the victim to the ground. - A Class A Misdemeanor.
Count 3: Interference with a Report of Domestic Violence; after having committed an act of domestic violence, he then attempted to prevent the victim from calling the 9-1-1 Emergency Telephone System. – A Class A Misdemeanor.
His bond was set at $75,000. He was taken into custody later that evening. In addition to these warrants, he also had a no-bond warrant out of St. Louis, for possession of controlled substance.
