NEWS RELEASE: Shooting Investigation, Possible Attempt Robbery
On today’s date at approximately 2:01 pm, Officers responded to the area of 2112 W. Whittier Blvd. regarding a call of shots fired with a male victim down. Upon officer’s arrival, they checked the area and located a gunshot victim inside the Tobacco Shop of 2112 W. Whittier Blvd.
It’s believed that 3 male blacks in their early 20’s wearing dark clothing entered the store and attempted to rob the victim. The suspect (s) shot at the victim striking him once in the torso and once on the leg. The suspects then ran out of the location westbound on Whittier Blvd. It’s believed that the suspects got into a light-colored sedan and fled westbound on Whittier Blvd out of sight. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and subsequently transported to a local hospital for further treatment. At this time, we do not know the condition of the victim.
