Tuesday, May 15, 2018, the East Avenue Sewer Relief Project continues to make progress with the street restoration phase. The contractor started trench repairs yesterday at the South end of project near bend/curve on East Ave. This work will block the entire road. Resident traffic will be maintained as well as buses and EMS. We will have steel plates nearby when needed. All traffic is encouraged to use detours or go around the block. Also this week, the concrete subcontractor will be installing the radius curbs on some of the bio swales. This will also block East Ave at various locations as it will be a moving activity.
East Avenue remains closed and drivers must use the detour routes for East Avenue of Middle Avenue and East River Street. The detour routes are posted.
