TOWN OF NEWBURGH CANCELS STATE OF EMERGENCY
Town of Newburgh Supervisor Piaquadio has CANCELLED the state of emergency in the Town of Newburgh.
The Town is still experiencing wide spread power outages as well as road closures due to the storm. Town resources and Central Hudson crews continue working to remove trees and debris in order to restore power to the Town.
If you must travel, due so with caution. Expect delays due to traffic signal outages, road closures, and partially obstructed roadways due to debris.
Expect heavy delays on Route 9W from I-84 north through the Town; expect delays and travel with caution through intersections without functioning traffic signals, specifically, Route 300 at Route 52, Route 300 at Route 32, Rock Cut Road at Route 300 and Rock Cut Road at Route 52. Do not attempt to travel across downed power lines or over downed or low hanging trees or utility wires. Albany Post Road is currently inaccessible from both sides at Route 9W and Balmville Road.
