Search Warrant Service / Angels Camp PD Case # 18-0355
On 05/15/18, at approximately 10 AM, staff from the Angels Camp Police Department and the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant in the 1800 block of Appaloosa Road. The search warrant authorized officers to look for illegal drugs, firearms, stolen property, electronic storage devices, and authorized those items to be seized. The search warrant was the result of an ongoing investigation, and further details cannot be disclosed.
Methamphetamine, ammunition, one firearm, and several electronic devices were seized during the service of the search warrant. Conditions inside the residence were such that it posed a health hazard to one juvenile that was residing there, and Calaveras County Health and Human Services (CPS) was notified. County Code Compliance was also notified due to conditions present, and both agencies responded to the scene.
Several people were arrested, and one child was placed in protective custody. The child was released to the custody of Health and Human Services staff. Several additional people that were present were detained during the service of the search warrant, and were subsequently released on scene at the conclusion of the warrant service.
Shawn P. Langston, a 54 year old Angels Camp resident was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges related to a felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, child endangerment, and possession of methamphetamine.
Stephanie L. Bridgerman, a 27 year old Angels Camp resident, was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges related to child endangerment.
During the course of serving the search warrant two additional people arrived at the residence and were also subsequently arrested.
Shawna M. Alexander, a 34 year old Sonora resident, was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges related to being under the influence of a controlled substance.
Patrick E. Copes, a 52 year old Modesto resident, was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on charges related to driving under the influence and being under the influence of a controlled substance.
This investigation is ongoing, and further details cannot be released at this time.
