Good Thursday afternoon! The following are calls for service and activities for the Sheriff’s Office for Wednesday, 5/16/18.

-FM 1585 at Hard Hat Rd, Levelland: Fire. Deputies responded to assist with a reported grass fire in the area. Deputies assisted on scene with traffic control as needed as fire crews extinguished the fire.

-500 blk Tarver, Anton: Civil Issue. A deputy was dispatched to meet with a complainant regarding an issue over a vehicle on the property. Civil remedies were provided to lawfully remove the vehicle.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Warrant Service. A deputy responded to serve a warrant on an individual turning herself in to the jail. The individual was arrested and booked into the jail.

-1900 blk South College, Levelland: Dog Bite. A deputy responded to the ER to complete a report related to a dog bite that occurred in the county. It was reported a stray dog bit an individual and was not able to be located.

-Hwy 114 near FM 168, Smyer: Reckless Driver. A deputy was dispatched to the area related to a reckless driver complaint on the highway. The vehicle was headed east toward Lubbock. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located. Lubbock County was also notified of the complaint.

-2800 blk County Rd, Levelland: Civil Issue. A deputy responded to a residence in the area related to a civil matter involving the use of a vehicle. The complainant allowed a family member to use a vehicle and wanted to have it brought back. The deputy advised the complainant of civil remedies to retrieve the vehicle. The vehicle was returned a short time later.

-FM 301 at Samson Post, Sundown: Fire. A deputy was notified of a controlled burn in the area. The fire department and other officials notified the resident of the active burn ban and what constitutes a violation. The fire was put out while personnel were on scene.

-1310 Avenue H, LEC: Dog Bite. A deputy was notified of a possible dog bite report. It was determined it occurred in the City of Anton and was referred to the Anton PD.

Deputies also conducted close patrols/vacation watches, patrols in all areas of the county, civl process service, and investigative follow-up activities.
