The Milltown American Legion is sponsoring the “Follow Me” 5K race that will be taking place tomorrow morning at 8:30 am. All proceeds to benefit veteran’s organizations and our brave men and woman who are serving in uniform.  Runners and 5K staff will be organizing in the Milltown American Legion parking lot and the Borough Park.
The run route is the same route that is used every year during the 4^th of July 5K race. Runners will start the race on Violet Terrace by Parkview School and finish on JFK Drive near Lakewood Drive.

Certain streets in Milltown will be closed to traffic for short periods of time. There will be traffic delays, and our officers will be on hand to direct and divert traffic. We appreciate your patience, and if you are located in an affected area, we hope you will come outside to support and cheer on the runners.

Affected streets:

1. Violet Terrace and Main Street will be closed to traffic from approximately 8:00 am until 9:30 am.
2. Side streets (Violet Terrace – Ackerman Avenue) connected to JFK Drive will be coned off from approximately 8:15 am until 9:30 am.
3. JFK and Lakewood Dr.  will be closed from approximately 8:00 am until 9:30 am.
4. Washington Ave and JFK Drive will be closed from approximately 7:45 am until 9:30 am.
5. Kuhlthau Avenue will be closed at Dutch/Fresh Ponds from approximately 8:40 am until 9:30 am
6. Side streets along Kuhlthau Avenue will be coned off from approximately 8:30 until 9:30 am
7. Traffic on South Main Street will be stopped for short periods to allow for the safe crossing of runners.
8. If you are planning on going to the Gloria Bradford (Borough) Park for scheduled baseball games, please use Bruce Court to access Violet Terrace and the park.
9. If you are going to the Albert Avenue Park for morning soccer, please use side streets along South Main Street (Hill Street, Lincoln etc.), to access Albert Avenue and the park.
