Monday, May 21, 2018 - The East Avenue Sewer Relief Project continues to make progress with the street restoration phase. Intersection roadway restoration begins today, starting at Wooster and working north. Intersections will be closed to traffic. Access will be available for buses and EMS by using steel plates. However, George and East will be the one intersection that will need to be completely closed – No Thru Traffic. Gates residents will need to use Middle Ave while restoration takes place at Gates/East Ave.
This will be a moving activity. It is anticipated that work at Wooster, George, Howe and Gates will take place this week. This is only the concrete base restoration. Asphalt final restoration will take place later this summer.
East Avenue remains closed and drivers must use the detour routes for East Avenue of Middle Avenue and East River Street. The detour routes are posted.
